This Privacy Notice for RaqamQatar ("we", "us", or "our") describes how and why we may access, collect, use, and share ("process") your information when you use our website at https://www.raqamqatar.com ("Services"). RaqamQatar is a free web tool that estimates the market value of Qatar number plates and used cars using publicly available listing data. 1. What information do we collect?
In short: we collect (a) what you type into the forms when you ask for an estimate, and (b) the standard request metadata that any web server records when your browser visits a page.
Information you provide via the forms
On the plate evaluator we collect the plate number (digits and the letter X only) and whether you marked it private or transportation. On the car valuator we collect the make, model, trim, model year, mileage, cylinder count, and — only if you choose to use the auto-fill feature — the listing URL you pasted. We do not ask for and do not collect your name, email address, phone number, identity document, or location through these forms.
Information automatically collected by our web server
Our nginx reverse proxy records standard access-log entries for every request. Each entry contains your IP address, the date and time of the request, the request method and path (for example, GET /car-valuation), the HTTP response status and size, the value of the Referer header your browser sent, and the value of the User-Agent header your browser sent. We do not run device fingerprinting, we do not collect precise geolocation, and we do not record anything beyond what nginx writes by default.
Sensitive information
We do not process information about your racial or ethnic origin, religion, health, sexual orientation, political opinions, or any other category that may be regarded as 'sensitive' under applicable law.
2. How do we process your information?
In short: to give you the estimate you asked for, to operate and secure the website, and to improve the product over time.
To deliver the estimate: when you submit a form, we pass the inputs to our pricing model and return the estimate to your browser. The inputs are held in server memory for the duration of the request only; they are not persisted to any database or log file we control.
To operate and secure the website: we read nginx access logs to monitor uptime, investigate errors, identify abusive traffic, and understand aggregate traffic patterns such as how many requests we serve per day.
To improve the product: we may analyse aggregated, de-identified usage patterns (for example, which makes and models are searched most often) to decide what to build next. We do not analyse access-log data alongside the contents of your form submissions.
3. When and with whom do we share your information?
In short: with our hosting provider, with Google Fonts for typography, and nowhere else.
Hosting provider: the Services run on infrastructure operated by a hosting company, which has access to the server and its logs by virtue of providing that infrastructure.
Google Fonts: our pages load typography from Google's font CDN (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When your browser requests these files, Google receives your IP address and the User-Agent header. We do not control or have visibility into Google's processing of that data; please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details.
WhatsApp redirects: when you click the 'Share on WhatsApp' button, your browser is redirected to wa.me with a pre-filled message you can review and send. We do not send any data to WhatsApp on your behalf.
Business transfers: if RaqamQatar is acquired by, merged with, or has its assets transferred to another business, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We do not sell or rent your information to third parties. We do not share data with advertising networks because we do not run advertising on this site.
4. Do we use cookies and other tracking technologies?
In short: no.
We do not set tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies. We do not run any third-party analytics or advertising scripts (no Google Analytics, no Google Tag Manager, no Meta Pixel, no Hotjar, no Mixpanel, no equivalents) on this site. If we add functional cookies in the future — for example, to remember your language preference — we will update this notice before doing so.
5. How long do we keep your information?
In short: only as long as needed.
Form inputs are not retained beyond the request that produced them.
Nginx access logs are retained for up to thirty (30) days for operational, debugging, and security purposes, after which they are rotated and deleted from active storage.
6. How do we keep your information safe?
In short: HTTPS in transit and standard server hardening.
We serve the site over HTTPS so that data in transit between your browser and our server is encrypted. We follow standard nginx and Flask hardening practices on the server. We do not process payment details and never store passwords or biometric data. Despite these measures, no online service can guarantee absolute security, and you use the Services at your own risk.
7. What are your privacy rights?
In short: contact us and we will act on any reasonable request.
Because we do not tie any form input or log entry to your name, account, or identifier, traditional access and deletion requests are largely not applicable to us. If you have a specific concern — for example, you want us to remove access-log entries that originated from your IP address within the retention window — please email hello@raqamqatar.com with enough information for us to locate the entries (typically the IP address and an approximate date range). We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
8. Controls for do-not-track features
In short: not applicable, because we do not track.
We do not run trackers, so there is nothing for a 'Do Not Track' signal to disable. Our behaviour is the same whether or not your browser sends the DNT header.
9. Children's privacy
In short: the Services are not directed at children under 16.
The Services are not directed at children under sixteen (16) years of age, and we do not knowingly process information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through our forms, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
10. International users
In short: the Services are hosted in the State of Qatar.
By using the site you understand that the form inputs you submit, together with the access-log entries described above, are processed on servers located in the State of Qatar.
11. Updates to this notice
In short: we will revise this notice when our practices change.
We may update this notice from time to time. The current version is always available at /privacy-policy, and the 'Last updated' date at the top of the notice will be revised whenever there are material changes.
